Lotus Quickr For Instant Teamwork
Quickr - an evolution of QuickPlace
Quickr is intended to revolutionise the way people work together and manage daily content - whether they are inside or outside the company firewall.
Quickr encompasses both team collaboration and document management: "It's the first time one of the enterprise software companies has embraced social computing in a big way.....It's a leap over Microsoft in social computing......It gives the Lotus customer base more reason to look at the Lotus portfolio for things like team collaboration" (Forrester Research, February 2007)
Connecting Quickr to the iPhone, iTouch and iPad
Our partner SNAPPS has introduced SnappFiles - its a free app available on the Apple App Store that delivers secure access to and collaboration on corporate documents stored in IBM Lotus Quickr or Filenet P8 ECM systems. For more info go to http://snappfiles.snapps.com Of course IBM currently also offer a custom Quickr Client that runs on the BlackBerry - so connect your handheld devices and get Quickr wherever you are.
Quickr is taking collaboration to a whole new level
With Quickr you get an impressive range of teamspace and content capabilities:
Shared content libraries
Quickly set up libraries to organize and share content. Users can access content in Lotus Quickr right from their familiar Microsoft Windows desktop. They simply drag documents from their C-drive folders to personal or shared Lotus Quickr places. Or, they can save documents to Lotus Quickr folders directly from the application they are using.
Connectors to popular applications
Simple integration helps save time and effort. Users can work where they are without switching out of their applications. With a simple click, Lotus Notes users can move attachments into Lotus Quickr libraries and send links instead of large e-mail files. Microsoft Office users just check documents in and out of the Lotus Quickr document libraries and more.
Team places
Easily create online places for projects or teams. Users get a do-it-yourself guide to help them set up places and components to customize them with team calendars, discussion forums, blogs, wikis and other collaboration tools for managing projects.
Ready-to-use Templates
Our fellow Penumbra Member SNAPPS is the official design partner for Quickr. You can see more about Quickr from Rob Novak of SNAPPS here. SNAPPS have developed a whole range of templates for IBM that you can use right "out of the box" for such tasks as project management, surveys and meeting management. These are excellent business tools.
